Web Client UI upgrade to Bootstrap 5

We are excited to announce the latest upgrade to our Web client UI, now powered by Bootstrap 5. This release brings a more modern and responsive user interface with improved design elements and enhanced functionality. We’ve worked to ensure a seamless transition, retaining much of the original look and feel while introducing new features that will enhance the user experience.

Key features of the upgrade:

• Upgraded Components: Most components within the Web client have been updated to Bootstrap 5. A few components which are remaining will be upgraded in upcoming releases. We’ve taken advantage of the latest design features while maintaining the overall look and feel of the platform. Where necessary, newer Bootstrap 5 components are used to ensure better performance and a more polished experience.
• Page Updates: The Web client features three core user-facing pages—Home, Account, and Share. All components across these pages have been updated to ensure compatibility with Bootstrap 5, delivering a more cohesive and polished user experience.

Default user experience:

• New Default UI: The default user experience will be based on the updated Bootstrap 5 interface with this release. This new design offers improved responsiveness, accessibility, and visual appeal, ensuring a more modern and user-friendly environment.

Theme compatibility:

• Focus on the Default Theme: The update has been optimized for the default theme in Bootstrap 5. However, we recognize some users may experience minor styling issues when using non-default themes as this upgrade is primarily tailored to the default theme. We are working to address and resolve theme-related discrepancies in future releases to ensure consistent styling across all themes.

 

Fallback mechanism:

For those who may prefer the previous interface or encounter issues with the new design, we have introduced a fallback mechanism:

• Toggle Button for Easy Rollback: Administrators can easily toggle between the new Bootstrap 5 interface and the previous user interface. This option is available in the Admin Console, under the “Server Manager” section on the “Advanced” tab. In the “Web Client” section, there is a new toggle “Use Legacy Client UI”  This gives users the flexibility to revert to the legacy experience should any issues arise with the new interface.

This upgrade brings a more polished and efficient experience for all users.
